Communities of Practice
Like exercise for the body, mindfulness supports mental wellbeing.
Practising together helps it become a lasting habit through mutual support.

What are Communities of Practice?
Our Communities of Practice were created in response to participant feedback. They offer a friendly way to stay connected after a programme ends, deepen your learning, and continue practicing together online.
How do they work?
We support each group for up to four optional follow up sessions, helping you get set up with an online platform, agree a meeting time, and choose a format that suits everyone - whether that includes space for chat, shared mindfulness practice, or both. We also provide recodings you can use during your sessions. Many groups have continued meeting for years, shaping the experience in the way that works best for them. When space allows, you may also be able to join an existing group.
Why Continue Practising?
Regular mindfulness and calming breathing give the mind a chance to settle and strengthen. These practices support attention, memory, and clear thinking, while also helping reduce stress and anxiety over time. Slow, steady breathing can further support emotional balance and heart health by soothing the nervous system.
Consistency matters more than long sessions:
-
Just 10–12 minutes a day can help improve focus and lower stress.
-
For deeper, lasting changes, studies suggest that around 8 weeks of daily practice (roughly 13–27 minutes per day) may support changes in brain structure linked to learning, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

“Goal setting and motivation. Group practice is good because you set aside that time every week, otherwise life demands get in the way”
