Our Story
Who We Are
The Mindful Life Group CIC (Community Interest Company) was established in 2023 and is the UK’s only not-for-profit organisation dedicated specifically to the mental health and wellbeing of older adults and carers. Our work is driven by a commitment to create high-quality, accessible, evidence-based mental health programmes tailored for later life. We aim to bridge gaps in traditional healthcare by offering professional, compassionate, and research-informed mindfulness and wellbeing programmes - making mental health support accessible to older adults and carers, no matter where they live or what their circumstances are.
Why We're Qualified
Our programmes are guided and delivered by a skilled, multi-disciplinary team with strong academic and professional credentials. Founder and Clinical Psychologist Adele Pacini holds a doctorate from the University of Cambridge, alongside a clinical doctorate from the University of East Anglia, and is a Registered Mindfulness Teacher. With her clinical training and academic background, she works with the rest of the team to ensure all our programmes meet high standards of psychological integrity and effectiveness. With a long-standing interest in mindfulness-based approaches to older adult wellbeing, Adele adapted this work during the Covid-19 pandemic, leading to the creation of The Mindful Life Group.
Our course leaders are also BAMBA* or BABCP** accredited, ensuring they meet recognised professional standards for safe and effective practice. In addition to our core team, we are supported by psychology undergraduates, clinical psychology trainees, interns and volunteers - all of whom are committed to upholding the highest standards of care, delivery, and evaluation for our programmes. We work closely with our advisory panel of older adults who have completed our courses, ensuring that every programme, and everything we do, remains relevant, inclusive and genuinely supportive.
This blend of clinical psychology, mindfulness-based training and research capability, is rare in the sector, and it ensures that our services are not just well-meaning, but genuinely effective, safe, and professionally delivered.
